Bill Gates is going to be knighted for his "services to global enterprise." What happened to the days when you had to be able to kill dozens of men from horseback with only a longsword and some plate mail in order to be knighted?

Happy Winter-een-mas everyone!

For those unfamiliar with the ways of Winter-een-mas, refer to the webcomic Ctrl+Alt+Del. The following episodes will be most helpful (in chronological order): 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, 11, 12 (Don't worry, they're all pictures...)

Incidentally, The character that instigates Winter-een-mas in the comic is named Ethan. I'm also wearing a t-shirt with a picture of him on it at the moment.

Adam and I went to the pub tonight and came up with some ideas for padalpha.org. They're in my inside coat pocket on a pair of napkins. Don't worry, I'll publish a link when there's actually something there worth looking at... for now there's just a gif of the lowercase letter alpha with a polar equation describing how it's drawn. Go math geeks!

So I lied when I said good night... so what?

I found a couple of things on Slashdot that I thought my readers might be interested in. The first is a mention of the Prius, a new car that Toyota is planning on coming out with; the second is plans for a new port of Linux, this time for the Nintendo Gamecube. The guys porting it are the Gamecube hackers and the Xbox Linux team.
