With lots of D&D and Zelda going on, I also haven't geocached recently. We went out a few days ago to try and locate the Travelbug Sunport cache, but were unsuccessful. Perhaps I will find time in the near future to go looking for it again.

Geez, one would think based on my frequency of posts that I'd been sucked into a black hole or something. This black hole, of course, would be one that allows bits of information to escape in small bursts every few days. Fortunately, this is not the case. The main reason I haven't posted is because my primary console has been occupied for a good amount of time by Mikey playing Icewind Dale 2. He had played the beginning before, but that was before we had to burn the Windows village to get rid of the plague it had contracted. Since he was impatient to get through the game, I assisted him in taking certain liberties with the savegame data (read: cheated the shit out of the game). It sure made things easier starting out with 190,000 experience points instead of 0. I would never do this in my game-- at least not before I'd beaten it once fairly-- but I'll gladly help someone else if they feel the need.

Wow, I must have been really drunk when I made that last post... I don't remember writing that at all. Well, I'm not drunk right now. Sooo not-drunk, in fact, that I'm still at work. At least I've got Pink Floyd to remind me what "the root of all evil today" is.

At least I can remember big words and how to post definitions to them properly in HTML... ;P

As such, I have not cleaned my house in the least. Forgive my slovenliness.

OK, so today I went to the Anodyne (a pool/beer hall located roughly on 4th and Central) and drank with many of my friends, including Nicole Mauer, Paul (aka Puck), Phil Lombana, Mikey (Policastro), Adam (Wilkins), and others. ((Forgive me if I forget your name... I am, as I've said before, a little vertrunken) Consult the babelfish if you have any confusion regarding the word "vertrunken")

In any case, I believe this qualifies as a blog entry. I could be wrong. ttyl.

Well, our deadline for cleaning the apartment has arrived, and we have put in exactly 0 man-hours. Maybe we'll clean up tonight, but I kind of doubt it. The reason we gave ourselves a deadline was because Erica is coming to town to visit, and I never quite feel comfortable having a girl over to my apartment when every available surface is littered with beer bottles and cans, empty cigarette packs, and other trash. There's so much dirt and dust on the floor that if I walk around barefoot for one night, my feet are practically black on the bottom by the end of the night, and I have to brush off my feet before I get into bed. Maybe Mikey will have some motivation to clean when I get home and we can make some progress. Another reason we need to clean is so that the fix-it guys can come over and turn or basin back into a sink and fix the drywall on my ceiling (and hopefully the leak that caused it to get that way). We should probably at least buy some potion of basin-to-sink (a.k.a. Drano) in the meantime so the sink can be used if/when Erica arrives. Oh, and sorry for the lack of posts... I've been gaming and working and sleeping and playing video games and drinking beer... you know, the usual.

Today it's been raining/snowing on and off pretty much all day, and when I got home I was unpleasantly surprised to find out that there's a leak in the roof above my room large enough to cause the plaster on my ceiling to basically disintegrate and fall onto my floor and bed along with large amounts of water. Grrrrrr! So now the floor is sopping wet and covered in large chunks of wet plaster. This sucks, btw. More later.

Sorry about the lack of posts, but I've been busy geocaching. This is basically a GPS based treasure hunt: someone hides a cache of items and posts the latitude and longitude (with a high degree of precision) on the geocaching website, and you go looking for it. When/if you find it, you sign the log book and maybe exchange something of yours for something in the cache. When you get home, you can log your visit to keep track of which one's you've found. It's actually a pretty cool way to get me away from the gamestations/computer and out of the house. Hopefully Mikey and I can do some geocaching during our trip to CA.

A New Mexico legislator proposed Monday having the state honor all extraterrestrial beings with a special day that will "celebrate and honor all past, present and future extraterrestrial visitors" to New Mexico, the measure reads.

Apparently those tasty deep fried rectangular prisms made of potato are too good for their name.

A few friends of mine from #whiteboard (irc://toxic.magnesium.net/#whiteboard) have recently taken up geocaching, which inspired me to order a GPS unit. I ordered it on Sunday, and it's being delivered 2nd-day air so I should get it tomorrow or Wednesday. I also won a 64MB memory card for it on ebay, which will allow me to download many more maps than the factory-equipped 2MB would be able to hold. All together (GPS, memory, shipping, handling, insurance, etc.) it came to about $150, which isn't half bad for a cool new toy that talks to satellites.

So I failed to post for over three days, just like I didn't say I would... (or something along those lines).

Anyway, I'm at work again where I will remain until 00:00. I'll do some browsing later on and post anything interesting I find.

Here is a rather detailed analysis of how nanotechnology could be used to modify the human body to a more cyborg-esque "Human Body 2.0." Sounds kinda creepy, but hasn't everyone at one time or another wished for some sort of cyber-apendage/organ? ...or is that just me?

Mmmm... sleep... It's one of my favorite things to do. I remember one time in senior humanities when we were assigned to do a presentation about something we were passionate about. I tried to convince them that I was extremely passionate about sleep, but they all scoffed at me (including the teacher). I still maintain that I can be just as passionate about sleep than those other kids could be about working on their car, or dancing, or whatever. Someday they'll understand... they just haven't gotten their sleep on yet.

If anyone knows of a cure for procrastination, let me know, because I've been procrastinating all kinds of stuff for years now. In fact, I think I'll make a list of the things I've been meaning to do:

I'm sure there's more, but that's just off the top of my head. I'll add to the list if I think of anything.

This last weekend filled itself with lots of Xenosaga and a little sleep and work, too.
